Kelly Rowland has said that she is "nervous" to meet her estranged father at Christmas.

The X Factor judge has not seen her father Christopher Lovett, in 22 years since he walked out on her and her mother. While Kelly has agreed to meet her father, she admits that it is only happening after she saw an interview in a magazine where he asked for a reconciliation.

"A couple of weeks ago I was reading through a magazine and I saw a picture of him. I didn't even know who it was until I read the caption. I haven't seen him for 22 years," she told Marie Claire.

"After that, I do plan on seeing him over the holidays, I'm nervous as hell. I don't want to think about it. We'll see what happens," she added.

Kelly recalls the few memories she has of her father, saying that she can not remember him being around for long. "They're pretty bleak memories to be honest. My earliest memories of him are short visits. "It wasn't really bonding time. Me and my mom were always chasing after him. As a kid, that's not a good feeling."
