According to reports, DMX whose real name is Earl Simmons, will appear for the Morning Star Sanctified Church in Glendale, Arizona.
The entertainer will perform for free as Pastor Barbara King has said that DMX and his family, who are members of the congregation, would like to help raise money for repairs.
This isn't the first time the rapper has expressed an interest in God. In 2003, when released from prison, he claimed that he wanted to become a preacher. He has since returned to rap having been encouraged by his long term friend, Mase.
In 2005, he said: "I was ready to do that. I talked to Mase. I said Dog! I'm fed up with this rap sh--. I know the Lord. I know my true calling is to preach the Word where do I go from here? He was like, as long as the Lord gives you the talent to do what you do, do it. He'll call you when he's ready."
The tickets for the show are now on sale for $35-$40.
