Darryl McDaniels, one half of rap pioneers Run DMC, has been admitted to a hospital in New Jersey after blood clots were found in his left arm.

The rapper  who was suffering from pain and swelling was advised to go to hospital where doctors discovered two major blood clots. He is expected to undergo surgery today to remove them his publicist confirmed to E News.

DMC illness means he’ll have to cancel an appearance at the AVP Beach Volleyball Tournament taking place in Brooklyn this weekend.
