Howard Stern not sorry for Gabourey Sidibe and Oprah attack

Radio host says the Precious star needs help

The out-there radio host won't take back his comments for his scathing attack on Oscar-nominated actress, Gabourey Sidibe, and insists the plump star "needs help".

Stern blasted Sidibe on his Sirius radio show on Monday (8 March). "There's the enormous, fat black chick I've ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone's pretending she's a part of show business and she's never going to be in another movie."

The big mouth even went there with Oprah by saying: "Oprah's another liar, a filthy liar. She's telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she's going to have a career."

Does he NOT realise that not only is Gabourey an OSCAR-nominated actress, but she's also joined that cast of Showtime's comedy series 'The Big C'...AND she's also starring in a drama opposite another TaleTela favourite - Zoe Kravitz!?

In defense of his comments, Stern said: "The point I was trying to make is that obesity in this country is out of control. What's really sad is that you see people saying it's OK to be like this, you have to love your own body. It's OK to look like that.

"I feel this girl is going to kill herself - you can't eat like this. I did enjoy her performance (in Precious) I have nothing against her, I'm just trying to say she's enormous.

"The girl has got tremendous problems and she needs help. And we got slammed (for saying it)."

  • Ring...Ring... Hello? Oprah? Sidibe's agent here, we know you love Gaboury and think she would be great as a lead in your latest romantic movie, or she would really be a terrific spokesmodel for your clothing and perfume line, also maybe you could hire her for Wait... Oprah? Oprah?Hello?....bzzzzzzzz

  • She might get another role, Howard is not a psychic. But Oprah should know better to help her because she is morbidly obese. It's a health issue. Gaborie has a great personality but she may not live. Howard is right in that her weight SHOULD be an issue like any obese person g

  • There is a difference between saying something constructive and something hurtful. Yes it is true that obesity is unhealthy and the United States has more cases of obesity than any other country, but say it with a little tact and compassion. Howard Stern is an insensitive a**hole and anyone who agrees with him deserves for someone to be as cruel and heartless about your imperfections. I hope you all get what you deserve!

  • i think that Howard guy should relax a little bit with his words. Gabourey had play in Precious movie because she was overweight, now that the movie is succesfull you ant expect for her to loose the weight over nite, dats just aint ganna happen.

  • Okay if she does lose the weight then what? Ole howard still couldn't leave out the obvious that she black so then will you all have to say something because she's black too or too tall or her hair isn't long enough. I tell you what after all of your own faults are perfected and there is no sin in you then post a critique on someone else OKAY!!!!!!!. Until then if you can't say anything nice SHUT YOUR MOUTHS.

  • Are you kidding me? There is not one word of lie or deceit in Sterns words. The people in this country are infact the fattest pieces of slobs out there.. think about any other country that suffers from obesity.. NONE.. NIL.. NADA.. there are zero countries that can match American obesity. Its ridiculous that people promote that being fat is fine.. Imagine people like OPRAH

  • Leave the precious star alone. She will be able to pay her own medical bills and wont need to count on OBAMA'S HEALTH CARE REFORM. As for Howard Stern: YOU ROCK

  • The current normalizing of morbid obesity is horrifying. Stern is only speaking the sad truth. Walk through any mall or down any public street and you will see more than a few people her age and younger who are just as big, or bigger. Sadly, 300-400 lb. people are no longer a rarity.

  • she may have weight problems but you all have problems with your hearts. cause when she looses the weight if she chooses you will still have heart problems. i say to her go ahead with your bad self and keep on using negative people to push you on to great work and prove them all wrong. will be praying your strenght in the Lord and praying for them also.

  • I'm not a Howard fan, but he's 100% right on this one. She gave a hell of a performance in Precious, but I don't see her really succeeding in show business without some pretty significant weight loss. The fact is that she is obese, and that while Howard could have used more diplomatic language (as is something of a constant with him) he is, in my opinion, accurate with his statement.

  • She does need to diet, that's the truth!
