Ja Rule and Adrienne Bailon are to star in faith-based drama "I'm in Love With a Church Girl".

This will be a debut feature by indie production company Reverence Gospel.

The project is based on the story of the head of Reverence, Galley Molina and it will be directed by Steve Race, who's credits include 'Princess' and 'The Beach House'.

The drama is scheduled to show 10 May in San Jose, California.

The low-budget drama will centre on a retired drug trafficker who is turning his back on the game but remains loyal to his circle of friends and former associates. He meets the girl of his dreams, but then he must decide whether to cut his old life out completely.

Ja Rule, who is slated to release new album 'Venni Vetti Vecci 2010' this Summer, has starred in films such as "The Fast and the Furious," "Scary Movie 3" and "Shall We Dance."

Adrienne Bailon is the former lead vocalist of R&B girl group, 3LW.

Reverence hope to produce up to three films a year, with a budget of approximately $20 million each.
