Singers Alicia Keys and Shakira will perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in June.
The football tournament, which will be held in South Africa, will kick off celebrations on June 11 and it will feature 12 artists, many of them are African musicians alongside mainstream R&B and pop acts.
South African football player, Lucas Radebe told contactmusic.com: "I believe these historic evens will go a long way towards uniting people of our nation in South Africa.
"Music and sports are the lifeblood of African culture, so to combine those in this historic event will be a true celebration of Africa."
Lined up to perform at the concert are Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Mali's Amadou and Mariam, Beninoise singer Angelique Kidjo, South African rock group BLK JKS, Columbian rock Juanes, South African India group The Parlotones,Saharan desert musicians Tinariwen, Malian singer, guitarist Vieux Farka Toure and South African artist Vusi Mahlasela.
