Diplomats capo Jim Jones has explained the story behind an incident in Harlem on Monday in which he assaulted by a group of armed men.

Speaking to Miss Info, Jones claimed the incident was a 'botched robbery', denying claims it was in relation to a rap beef.

"I was in Harlem, alone, when three men stepped to me. Well the first guy, I beat the shit out of him, then the second guy jumped in with a metal pipe," Jones said.

Sounds like game over, right? Not for King Kufi Smacker: "I was so amped up I didn't even feel him hitting me with it. I was still putting a beating on the first guy. But when the third guy pulled out a gun, I got out of there. I left. Anyone with a brain would do the same."

Despite the pipe attack, Jones claims he made it back to his studio without serious injury. However, he says he won't be walking through Harlem without backup again.

"That was a stupid mistake. I know that. I'm human and that's where I slipped up. It won't happen again."
