Cheryl Cole is not dating hip-hop producer Alex Da Kid or Taio Cruz, according to friends who say she wants to be single.

It was rumoured last week that Cheryl was dating Taio after they became close while working on her forthcoming album, but then she was also said to be seeing Alex after they made their love for each other public on Twitter.

Now, a friend claims that Cheryl is not interested in dating anyone because she is still scarred from her failed attempts at reconciling her relationship with ex-husband Ashley Cole.

"Too much time was spent worrying whether a certain romance was going to happen," a friend told The Mirror.

"It wasn't worth it. She just wants to focus on putting out the best record yet."
