Several celebrities have come out in force to pay tribute to the late hip-hop legend Heavy D who tragically passed away yesterday.

Missy Elliott, Nas, LL Cool J, Swizz Beatz and Lil Kim are just some of the names in music who have taken to their Twitter accounts to pay tribute to the hip-hop pioneer. Heavy was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon in a Los Angeles hospital after he collapsed on a stairway in his home and comforted by a neighbour until the ambulance arrived.

It since emerged that the rapper suffered from pneumonia leading to his death.
