Juvenile has responded happily to the news Drake sampled his ‘90s classic ‘Back That Azz Up’ on Take Care.
A few eyebrows were raised after the Young Money artist’s sophomore LP leaked earlier this week, but none more so than for the track ‘Practice’, which takes Juvie’s strip club anthem and repurposes it into a slow-burning lovesick ballad.
However, the ex-Cash Money rapper claims he’s flattered by the track, claiming he is simply happy his music is ‘appreciated and not forgotten about’.
“I’m kind of flattered that it was Drake and that it’s an R&B song. I never pictured it to be used that way but he did a great job with it, man,” he told XXL.
“And I’m quite sure that New Orleans, the people down here, are gonna do our own New Orleans remix version of it, so we’ll have another version that sound more like a bounce sound to it.”
Juvenile also revealed he is currently preparing a new mixtape with fellow New Orleans emcee Mystikal.
