Lil Kim is reported to release a documentary and a memoir detailing her in and after her 2006 prison sentence.
The Brooklyn-born rapper was sued in 2008 by Simon & Schuster for accepting an advance on a book that she failed to turn in. It seems that while she was not inspired back then, she is now and is planning to release both a memoir, titled The Price of Loyalty, and a documentary independently.
"I've been independent; you know I left my record company two years ago," she told Shade 45. "I was in another situation and that's going to be in the documentary as well and why it took so long. I am not sure if I'm going to separate that documentary from that book. That's what we're trying to figure out right now."
Kim did jail time in 2005 for her involvement in a shooting but since her release in 2006, has failed to make an official comeback. Depsite her critics, Kim says she is proud for still being recognised in the hip-hop game today.
"I've been doing everything myself and quite frankly, for me to not have the backing, or the budget that I used to have, for me to be able to still move the way I move and be relevant the way I am, I feel blessed."
