A 21-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of US President Barack Obama, it has been confirmed.
Oscar Ortega-Hernandez, of Idaho, was arrested in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania yesterday after he attempted to shoot the President at The White House. According to BBC News, authorities found two bullets on the south side of the executive mansion - where Barack's bedroom is - on Tuesday.
Following a manhunt, police were tipped off by someone who recognised Hernandez and he was taken into police custody. He was then moved to Washington DC where he remains in federal custody.
Law enforcements the BBC that Hernandez believed God had given him a personal mission to attack the White House.
Barack and his wife Michelle were not in Washington when the attack took place. It is not known if his daughters Malia and Sasha were at home.
