Janet Jackson has shocked animal lovers, by announcing that she is to team up with Blackglama and launch her own range of furs.

The pop superstar and younger sister of the late Michael Jackson will design fifteen items, including coats and gloves to be sold as part of a mink collection.

The 45-year-old told the Daily Star: "The art of fashion is one of my great passions. I've worked for years to bring a collection into the world. Partnering with Blackglama is very exciting."

The Janet Jackson Blackglama Collection will hit high-end stores later this month.

In August, Janet was announced as the first celebrity to be featured in the Blackglama ‘What Makes A Legend Most?’ campaign for two consecutive years.

Blackglama CEO Joe Morelli then said: "It became clear in our discussions of who the Legend should be this year, that continuing the momentum with Janet made complete sense ... She embodies glamour, luxury, and sophistication, everything that Blackglama stands for."
