Reflecting on his recent 11-month stint in jail, T.I. has revealed Eminem repeatedly tried contacting him to offer support with the Atlanta rapper's addiction to pain killers, having already overcome his own battles with prescription drugs.
Although the pair have not been able to link up since Tip's release in September, the Grand Hustler says he appreciated Em's attempts to get through to him while serving time for parole violation after being tested positive for opiates and being caught in posession of Ecstacy.
"I haven't had a chance to speak to Em since I've been home. I heard that while I was down, he was trying to get in contact with me, but I don't know if the dots just didn't connect," he told The Juice.
"[Eminem] overcoming his own adversities, winning the battle against his own demons and continuing to break the mold and re-set the standard of what it means to be the most successful hip-hop artist in the game ... I salute that to no end."
Perhaps both rappers can unite in time to collaborate on T.I.'s next album, which the 31-year-old has announced is due in early 2012.
