Taio Cruz has revealed details about Usher's next album and says that it will boast more of a soulful sound compared to his last release.
Usher burst back onto the music scene last year with a new euro-pop, club sound which has proved successful and has seen him collaborate with stars such as David Guetta and Enrique Iglesias.
Speaking to MTV News about his new musical direction, Taio said: "I saw Usher a few times, but I spoke to him at length at David [Guetta]'s house when we were in Ibiza. He has very specific ideas of where he wants to go musically and sound-wise."
According to Taio - who is working with Usher on new material - the singer does not want to stray too far from his typical sound, adding: "He always wants there to be the soul in there. I'm kind of, not the opposite, but I'm always like, 'Let's get straight to the point and be really clear with the message and be simple."
He added: "So we try to match those two worlds together: being soulful and, at the same time, catchy."
