Estelle has denied that she upped and left the UK when superstardom in the US beckoned her, saying that "things changed very quickly."
The west London born rapper and singer rose to fame in her hometown with debut single 1980, but after a few singles, she was approached by the US and has since collaborated with artists such as Kanye West and Rick Ross.
Some fans have accused Estelle of forgetting where she came from - a claim which she strongly denies. "I think people - I think the fanbase has gotten bigger first of all and it's fastly changed in the past five years," she explained to TaleTela.
She continued: "I don't blame them for saying that, no one can really explain to you the ins and outs of how a record label really works and how you release records."
