Mary J. Blige has given advice to heartbroken teenager Rachel Crow who was ousted from the X Factor USA last night.
The 13-year-old maintained her composure at first but then broke down on stage and cried uncontrollably as Steve Jones told her she was leaving the competition. Rachel was in the bottom two with Marcus Canty but the vote went to deadlock and she received the lowest number of public votes.
Mary J. Blige - who performed on the show earlier in the night - gave Rachel some words of wisdom, writing on Twitter: "Keep your head up!!!!!!!!"
After recovering from the initial shock, Rachel wrote on her own Twitter page: "Thank u so much to all of my fans I love you so much. I am sad tonight but I will bounce back and be fine tomorrow."
Mary gave a beautiful acoustic performance of 'Need Someone' which is taken from her latest album My Life II... The Journey Continues.
