R. Kelly has slashed the price of his lavish Chicago mansion in an attempt to force a quick sale.
The 44-year-old had the property built back in 1997, but used it two years later as collateral to borrow $3.5million.
However after missing mortgage payments over the last year and facing a foreclosure lawsuit, he has put it on the market for just $1.595 million in an attempt to force a quick sale.
Reports surfaced that the ‘Ignition’ star had not lived in the mansion for a year but listing agent James Mattz told the Chicago Tribune that the house “is occupied, based on what we know.”
The R’n’B star’s next move will see him on the Carnival's Destiny ship for the ‘Love Letter Cruise,’ a six-day trip from Miami to several Caribbean ports in October 2012 which will include two performances by Kelly himself.
In addition to Kelly concerts, the cruise will include a fashion show, salsa lessons and karaoke, among other activities. Prices for Kelly's cruise range from $999 to $2999, with a $250 discount if booked before December 17.
Kelly is also putting the finishing touches to a new autobiography expected next spring called, Soula Coaster: The Diary of Me.
