John Legend is engaged to his girlfriend Chrissy Teigen after he proposed to her over the Christmas period.

The 'Heaven' singer and the 26-year-old model have been dating since 2007, so it was only a matter of time before John put a ring on it. The couple had been vacationing over the Christmas weekend, when he decided to pop the question.

A spokesperson for John told People magazine: "John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives."
