Tennis star Serena Williams has sensationally revealed in an interview that she has never actually liked sports and now just wants to spend her time doing other things like writing, acting and shopping.

The 30-year-old has won 13 Grand Slam singles titles since her professional debut in 1995 and has amassed earnings of over £22million, making her one of the most successful female tennis players of all time.

Despite all this success, Serena shockingly revealed that she has never had a passion for her profession.

"I don’t love tennis today, but I’m here, and I can’t live without it, so I’m still here and I don’t want to go anywhere any time soon," she said at a post-match press conference.

Williams has admitted that she plans to cut down on the number of games she will play this year, adding: “It’s not that I’ve fallen out of love – I’ve actually never liked sports, and I never understood how I became an athlete. I don’t like working out, I don’t like anything that has to do with working physically.”

But she did reveal one of her passions, admitting: “If it involves sitting down or shopping, I’m excellent at it.”

“I’m still working on my acting, but more on production and writing…I’m in school… [there’s a] lot of business stuff that’s really interesting and really cool. Oh, my clothing line. I’m trying to do more with that.”

When asked if she was preparing for a life after tennis Williams replied: “No. I’ve always been preparing myself for life after tennis. I’ve actually never played a lot.”
