Oprah Winfrey Is Asexual

Celebrity biographer states opinion on the media mogul...

Kitty Kelley, celebrity biographer, has described Oprah Winfrey as asexual.

As the author of Oprah: A Biography, she told Parade that Winfrey "fuelled" speculation about her sexuality when she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and said that she was not gay.

Kelley said: "She's been engaged to Stedman Graham for 18 years. Her father says that they'll never marry. But I wouldn't describe Oprah as anything other than asexual at this point.

"I think she's put all of her juices, all of her energy into her career, into building her brand, into expanding her image."

The biographer has defended her right to write the controversial book and said: "This is a woman who's made her mark interviewing other people and getting them to reveal their most painful intimate, dark secrets.

"Beyond that, we're entitled to a good understanding of a woman whose beliefs we have come to embrace. Oprah, I believe, is more influential in our lives than most elected officials and certainly many institutions. She has taken on the mantle of goddess, really.

"She's able to tell us how to live our best lives, what causes to support, what charities to contribute to, what politicians to vote for, and even what medicines to take. So I think we are, as viewers, entitled to an understanding of this woman."

For someone to be able to tell us all of these things - doesn't it say alot about the people who take her word as Gospel? Surely people should be thinking for themselves when it comes to things such as policitics, medicine and causes to support? Surely her suggestions should just be that - suggestions!?

  • People have to have their own mind. A lot of people are followers and allow tv, sports figures, and entertainers to think for them. I like Oprah very much but I don't allow my self to be influenced by her. I follow God and realize thta these superstars are just human beings like me.
