Michigan rapper Skillz - formally known as Mad Skillz - best known for his much acclaimed 1996 album From Where??? has come to the defence of close friend Will Smith after being attacked by actress Janet Hubert.
Hubert recently dismissed the idea of a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion by saying: “I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith," labelling movie star Smith as an “egomanic” and claiming that she was unfairly dropped from the show, blaming Smith for what her dismissal.
In an interview with SOHH, after admitting that he did not know Smith personally during the show’s heyday he added: “Will is my man, so anyone who has a problem with Will has a problem with me.”
The rapper targeted Hubert adding: “I've heard stories from a couple people in the cast about how she was and I believe it was just that syndrome where she's like, 'I'm a classically trained Broadway actress and here I am on this show with this hip-hop kid.' Some people just don't get that.”
