Ruben Studdard has said that he thinks Diddy should replace Cowell on the reality show, 'American Idol'.

Producers are reportedly thinking about Howard Stern taking over Cowell's chair, but Studdard has other ideas. He told VIBE: "Diddy would be a good fit because he has that no nonense attitude when he's picking artists but it's still going to be a hard spot to fill."

The Studdard became Idol's second winner, seven years ago and says that he laughs at people when they say the show isn't any good. He said: "People forget that performers progress as the season goes on. Everybody turns into an artist literally at the last three weeks before the end so I don't make any comments until I see who's on top of the class."
