Cash Money Records have unveiled the signing of former American Idol contestant Chris Richardson.
The pop singer reached the last six of the competition back in 2007, with his performances earning him comparisons with Justin Timberlake.
In an interview for Derick G., Richardson sat down with Cash Money boss Birdman to talk about the forthcoming album - slated to drop in May - and life at the label: "I’m really, really family oriented so just having the camaraderie of everybody at this label is something so special. I can’t really explain it, but it definitely is inspiring."
Birdman had some encouraging words for the 27-year-old himself, saying: "I think he’s a special talent. He’s definitely a sensational artist on our brand, YMCMB."
Cash Money now boasts a diverse list of singers, including British singer-songwriter Jay Sean and rocker Kevin Rudolf.
