Common has set the record straight regarding his on-going feud with Drake and says that their issue is with Hip-Hop and not Serena Williams.

The two rappers have been going hard at each other for months, but the situation reached a climax this week when Drizzy fired shots at his nemesis on Rick Ross' 'Stay Schemin',' to which Com retaliated with a diss over the same beat.

Following Serena Williams' meltdown on Twitter last week, speculation has been rife that the underlying issue in Com and Drake's beef was because of their previous intimate relationships with the tennis star. 

However, Com says the beef is strictly about hip-hop: "To me, you can express yourself in many different ways, but I was just missing that hardcore Hip-Hop, that raw Hip-Hop sound, and I was just talking about it," he told Sirius Hip-Hop Nation.

"I was saying, man, the song ‘Sweet’ was cats out there doing sweet music. Dude must have took offense to it, so he came out and said some things, and once he said something on record, I said something on record," he added.

Promisingly, Com said that he doesn't want the beef to escalate, meaning we could be seeing the end of one of the biggest feuds in Hip-Hop.
