Idris Elba was made a very happy man last night when he took home a Golden Globe gong for Best Actor in a series or miniseries for his lead role in BBC drama Luther.
The Brit actor's performance in the dark drama has received critical acclaim throughout the two series, and he was awarded for his talents last night. Idris managed to beat off stiff competition from the likes of his former The Wire co-star Dominic West, Bill Nighy, Williams Hurt and Hugh Bonneville for the television award.
Looking extremely dapper in a black two-piece suit, Idris thanked his BBC UK and American team for supporting the series and also his young daughter who was watching from home.
Congrats, Idris!
