Snoop Dogg has got off lightly after being caught in possession of marijuana near El Paso, Texas last week, with a court fining the rapper $537 for the charge.
The Compton rapper was arrested at the top of the month after sniffer dogs discovered marijuana on his tour bus and admitted possession. Despite Texas' zero-tolerance approach to weed however, the 40-year-old got away with a relatively tiny fine ordered on Friday by the Hudspeth County Courthouse.
According to RumorFix, Snoop, real name Calvin Broadus, didn't appear at the courthouse but made arrangements to pay off the fine over the phone. The charge potentially carried a punishment of 180 days in jail.
Snoop announced the cancellation of his European tour a fortnight ago but has been scheduled to perform a headline date at Coachella alongside Dr. Dre.
