Alexandra Burke's brother Aaron appeared in court this week to deny charges of assaulting their mother Melissa Bell.

The former Soul II Soul singer claimed that her son, Alex's younger brother, had assaulted her during an altercation last month. 

According to The Sun, Aaron appeared on Wednesday to deny two charges of common assault but was remanded in custody until February 22.

Melissa has reportedly moved to withdraw her witness statement and District Judge Ian Baker told Highbury Corner Magistrates Court: "She thinks he has mental health problems and needs anger management help and maybe drug rehabilitation."
