Cash Money Records founders and brothers Bryan "Birdman" and Ronald "Slim" Williams have been named in a sexual assault case brought forward by a woman who says she was attacked by one of their business associates.
Nicole Westmoreland claims to have been invited to one of the label's studios by Bryan Williams with the intention of making a business presentation. However, Westmoreland alleges to have been "exposed to illegal drugs" and "explicit sexual activity" before being attacked in a bathroom.
Although the Williams brothers had no involvement in the incident, the woman is bringing forward a lawsuit claiming Cash Money are liable for the attack after Bryan Williams left her in a lounge and she was subsequently assaulted by label associate Alfred Cleveland, who is currently serving a prison sentence for the attack.
Westmoreland says individuals from Cash Money threatened to kill her after she turned down an offer of $100,000 not to report the crime to police, testifying: "[They said] That if I didn’t drop it that they were going to kill me. I believe that Brian Williams and Ronald Williams had to know that the rapist was dangerous."
Westmoreland is seeking unspecified damages after the attack left her feeling suicidal and later forced her to seek care at a mental hospital.
