Three Middle Eastern cities are battling with each other over who will get the chance to stage Kanye West's next music video.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar capital Doha have all entered a bidding war for Yeezy to film his latest directorial project, a follow-up to 2010's 35-minute 'Runaway' clip, at locations in their cities. West's team have already been sent over to scout each area and neogtiate contracts with film agencies.
"In Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha all of the film initiatives are government controlled. A bidding war is going on between various government entities and private investors to fund the film," a source told The Observer.
"There’s pretty intense rivalry here between Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar. They all want to claim the film as their own and take credit for generating the publicity."
West is apparently aiming to destroy "preconceived notions and stereotypes" about people from the Middle Easterners in his short film, with the source adding "Kanye is looking to bridge the cultural divide and break misconceptions."
Rumours have recently surfaced Kanye's Watch the Throne hit N****s in Paris contains hidden jabs aimed at ex-girlfriend Amber Rose.
