The producer of Nicki Minaj's highly controversial new single 'Stupid Hoe' has addressed the music video being banned from TV network BET.
It was revealed earlier this week that the channel has eliminated the video from its playlist as it is too explicit to be shown on TV. Apparently, they did not agree with Nicki writhing around in a thong bikini and performing suggestive dance routines, in addition to the blatant lyrics: "You a stupid hoe, you a, you a, stupid hoe."
The track's producer First Born has given an interview to True magazine who asked for his opinion on the song being banned.
"Honestly, you know, I know the people at BET - they keep it a pretty tight lane on what they want their viewers to see and hear," he told the publication.
"So, as far as that’s concerned, you know, I don’t really have anything to say as far as what they do. I feel like artist should also be able to say, and have the freedom to express what they need to express."
"And I know Nicki is going to continue to be the great artist that she is, and she is going to continue to push the envelope. I like to see artists stretch themselves. So we’ll see what happens in the future, but I know this is not the only video Nicki Minaj is going to do," he added.
