The family of the late Amy Winehouse have been offered a second inquest to re-investigate her death.
It had emerged earlier this week that the coroner who oversaw the original inquest was not fully qualified for the role and therefore resigned. The inquest into Amy's death was then deemed "illegal" and now her family have been offered the chance to have her passing investigated again to determine an accurate verdict.
Dr. Reid, the husband of coroner Suzanne Greenaway, has written to the families of the inquests she was in charge of, to apologise for the "distress" this may have caused.
"I apologise if this matter causes distress," he says. "I will be writing to the families affected to personally apologise and offer for their cases to be reheard."
Amy's father Mitch said the family were "shocked" to learn of the news regarding the coroner.
