Christina Milian has revealed that she has struggled to get film roles and endorsements in Hollywood because she is a black latina.

The actress is looking forward to her new role as Social Media Correspondent on The Voice but she says it's not always been so easy. "There have been a lot... Especially endorsements," she told Access Hollywood Live's Kit Hoover.

"There are certain things like, a hair product, or something like that, they're like, 'Oh, we want a Latina, we want a Latina,' you go in you're like, 'I'm Latina!' You go speak Spanish, you go do the whole deal, they're like, 'Oh, well, you know...'"

"They go for a more fair skin Latina because that's typically what you see, but we're trying to break that mold."

Frustrated at the discrimination, Christina recently filmed a documentary about the issues titled Black and Latino.

"Hey, we're talking about it. There's a documentary that I did with mun2 where we're talking about being black Latinos in the industry or just in the world and just kind of making it more accepted."
