M.I.A. has sparked outrage following her Super Bowl performance last night, after swearing at the camera.
The rapper joined Madonna and Nicki Minaj to perform their new single 'Gimme All Your Luvin' during the halftime at the sports event when she shocked the millions of viewers at home and those in the audience.
Following the gesture, network NBC who broadcasted the event were forced to issue an apology as a result of M.I.A's actions.
"The NFL hired the talent and produced the halftime show. Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers. There was a failure in NBC's delay system. The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans," they said in a statement released to the Hollywood Reporter.
