M.I.A. has reportedly split from her longtime fiance and also her son amid the controvery surrounding her Super Bowl performance.

The rapper has been having a tough week in the wake of her performance alongside Madonna and Nicki Minaj, in which she swore in front of millions of viewers worldwide. 

Now, reports have emerged that she is no longer with fiance Benjamin Bronfman and has left him to look after their son Ikhyd in New York.

According to the New York Daily News, M.I.A. - real name Maya Arulpragasam - has left the Big Apple to spend time away from the Super Bowl scandal in her hometown of London.

A source told the website that M.I.A. sometimes goes six weeks without seeing" Ikhyd and appears to be living a separate life from Benjamin, who was also reportedly seen on a date with a mystery woman last week.
