Eddie Murphy says that his close friend Whitney Houston didn't do drugs around him because it wasn't his type of scene.
The comic actor formed a close bond with the late singer back in the 90s and they were often spotted out partying together. However, Eddie says he never witnessed Whitney taking drugs despite her using heavily at the time.
"I know when I was around Whitney, I never saw any diva-ness; I never saw her do any drugs," he told Extra.
"I saw her smoke a cigarette before, but that was about it. She knows I did not like that and she didn't do that around me," he added.
Whitney was found dead on February 11 at the age of 48. The official cause of her death is yet to be determined although it is expected to be ruled an accident.
