Oprah Winfrey has admitted to the difficulties her TV network OWN has faced, and has called the new venture a "mistake."
The queen of daytime TV ended her successful talk-show The Oprah Winfrey Show last year to launch her own network earlier this year. However, the channel has received poor ratings and she was even forced to lay off workers.
However, Oprah has now admitted that starting her own TV network isn't as easy as she initially thought.
"The idea of creating a network was something that I wanted to do," Oprah told The Early Show on CBS.
"Had I known that it was this difficult, I might have done something else. I didn't think it was going to be easy, but if I knew then what I know now, I might have made different choices."
Hinting that she believes starting OWN was a bad choice, Oprah added: "If I were writing a book about it, I could call the book 101 Mistakes."
Despite the troubles, Oprah is thinking optimistically, and believes the network will prosper in time. "Actually, I feel better about our network own today than I ever have," she said.
