Ruff Riders hard man DMX, broke down in tears as he talked about his relationship with his estranged mother during an episode of VH1's Couple's Therapy.

The troubled 41-year-old rapper, broke down on TV when he recalled how his failed relationship with his mother Arnett Simmons, led to his drink and drug problems.

"I used to always turn to drugs when I was feeling a certain way and now that I'm not doing that, sometimes the pressure builds up, I'll call (someone) and say, I just wanted to say 'Mommy.' I wanted to say that word," X said.

"I wanted to say, Mommy. Not 'My mother, I just wanted to talk to her. I haven't talked to her in years and I just wanted to be able to say 'Hi, mommy. I love you. Never once did she (say she loved me)," he says before bursting into tears.

Later on, his wife Tashera points out that many people go through the same issue, and reassures her husband that it's ok to be emotional.

The tough Baltimore rapper then tried to man himself up, and after feeling rather embarrassed for showing emotion, he said: "I don't want to sound like a sucker. So what's the big deal, she didn't say she loved me, so what? I'm here, I'm healthy, I've got kids, I've got I good career."

DMX is planning to release his seventh studio album in June.
