Nick Cannon will be honoured for his work with various children's charities and career achievements.
The America's Got Talent host will receive his gong at the 2012 Common Sense Media Awards in San Francisco on Wednesday.
The awards are handed out to celebrities and other VIPs who "recognise the challenges of raising children in the digital world."
Cannon posted a tweet expressing his elation, saying: "Honored to receive an award from @CommonSenseNews this week for my efforts as an entertainer and advocate!"
The 31-year-old, who is father to twins Moroccan and Monroe, met with politicians recently to show his support for a new bill which aims to protect children by increasing internet privacy laws.
Fellow celebs to be bestowed with an honour also include director Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Disney singer/actress Bridgit Claire Mendler and writer/filmmaker Jean Kilbourne.
