Hip hop bling specialist Jacob The Jeweller is taking ex-Fugee Wyclef Jean to court over failure to pay for jewellery he ‘bought’.
In court papers filed, the company’s bosses state Wyclef took several items between 2002 and 2006 for a total $765,100 and still owes nearly $320,000.
The New York businessman’s customers include P Diddy, Usher, Missy Elliot and 50 Cent but has had difficulties collecting the outstanding bill from Wyclef.
"Despite Jacob & Co.’s repeated demands for payment, to date, Jean has failed to pay off the outstanding balance," the suit says.
Jacob The Jeweller- real name- Jacob Arabov, 43 was sentenced to serve a 2 1/2 year sentence for lying to investigators looking into a drug ring.
Wyclef has yet to respond to the allegations.
