VH1 Plan to honour the late diva Whitney Houston in their next edition of VH1 Diva.

Whitney tragically died in February after accidentally drowning in a bathtub and taking cocaine at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The annual concert has paid homage in the past to legends such as Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross.

According to Billboard, the show will be taped in December in Los Angeles. It has been confirmed that the late singer’s life-long musical director, Rickey Minor, will take on a executive producer role.

“We all felt that if any show could pay tribute to Whitney’s music, it would be ‘Divas,’” said VH1 president Tom Calderone.

“December felt like enough time where it wouldn’t be sad anymore, you’d want to celebrate her music.”

The soul diva made appearance on the show herself three times in 1999, 2002, and 2003. So far no artists have been confirmed to take part in the tribute.
