Swizz Beatz has defended P. Diddy's son, Justin Combs, over backlash he has received for obtaining a scholarship from UCLA.
The 28-year-old was recently awarded a $54,000 scholarship to play football at the prestigious university. However, he is receiving backlash for the achievement in light of the fact that his hip-hop mogul father Diddy was recently estimated by Forbes to be worth $500 million.
Justin has even become a trending topic on Twitter over the controversy but has been defended by Diddy's close friend Swizz Beatz.
"Congratulations 2Justin Combs 4working hard &earning his way no matter who his dad is! Sky is not the limits it's just the view:) @iamdiddy," he wrote.
Meanwhile, the university have defended their decision to grant Justin the scholarship, saying he is a star player.
"Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability, and not on a student’s financial need," UCLA spokesperson Ricardo Vazquez said in a statement.
Does Justin deserve to have the scholarship in light of his financial advantages?
