Ice-T premiered his new film Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap at a private screening at New York's Tribeca Cinemas yesterday.
Some of the guests attending the premiere included rapper Fabolous, Maino, Raekwon and Busta Rhymes, as well as Coco who accompanied husband Ice-T, who eagerly interacted and answered questions from the crowd of fans.
The documentary, shot over two years in between his full-time acting commitments, is Ice-T's directorial debut.
It engages with some of hip-hop's most influential artists in conversation about the craft of rapping, among them Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mos Def, Chuck D, Kanye West, Nas and more. It explores not only the history of hip-hop, but also the creative process behind the global art form.
Ice-T told the audience that his intent and expectations for the documentary was to ''take us on an intimate journey into the hearts and souls of hip-hop with the legends of rao music.''
