R&B singer Brandy Norwood came to the defence of Chris Brown whilst making an appearance on entertainment news program Showbiz Tonight, claiming that despite his past actions, she still respects him as an artist.
Appearing on the show to initially promote her role on TV show Drop Dead Diva, the 33-year-old mother-of-one instead found herself not only discussing pop culture, but also her experience on working alongside the ‘Beautiful People’ singer.
On collaborating with Chris Brown on her song ‘Put It Down’, Brandy said,
“I just feel like everybody goes through things in their life, and it’s not my place or anybody’s place to judge, I just know that Chris is a fantastic artist and he’s always been supportive of me as an artist, and I just wanted to work with him because he’s great at what he does.”
The catchy hip-hop number ‘Put It Down’ was the first singe of Brandy’s sixth studio album Two Eleven.
The singer and actress returns to American legal comedy-drama Drop Dead Diva reprising her role as Elisa Shayne, a former season three girlfriend of Jay Parker.
