It may be hard to believe that queen of TV talk shows, Oprah Winfrey, was turned down by a celebrity for an interview, but that's exactly what happened when Lauryn Hill refused to appear on Oprah's Next Chapter.

Currently riding high from the success of her interview with Rihanna last night, Oprah is most likely looking for her next target after chatting with Olympic gold medallist Gabby Douglas, next weekend. One direction where she won't be welcome though, is that of 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' singer, Lauryn Hill.

When a fan asked Oprah to approach Lauryn for a candid interview, Oprah replied: "Tried. She said no."

Perhaps Lauryn is hoping to keep attention away from herself, considering she is currently awaiting sentencing for tax evasion in addition to speculation surrounding the paternity of her youngest child whom she gave birth to last year.
