Rihanna has contacted her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown via a telephone call, according to reports.

The R&B singers have not spoken since he was charged with assaulting her before the Grammy Award's last year.

He has since been sentenced to 180 days of community labour along with five years probation.

A source told Heat magazine: "It's been almost a year since they last spoke, but Rihanna felt like she could try to be friends with Chris again.

"Seeing how emotional he was on set [at the BET Awards] really touched her. She'd never seen him like that before."

The source also remarked on Brown's changed character, adding: "Chris told her that he felt like he's grown up in the past year. He's said he's so happy to be back in touch with her.

"They were each other's first love and he's missed her so much. Rihanna knows that if he wanted him back, he'd be there in a second."

Throughout his probation, Brown has to stay at least 100 yeards away from Rihanna but the pair have apparently texted each other since their phone call.

Rihanna's 'friend' have also said that Rihanna is keen to meet up with her former-lover.
