Ashley Walters has spoken on his friendship with Alesha Dixon and says her failed marriage to his friend MC Harvey didn't ruin their chances of maintaining contact and working with each other.
The Top Boy actor is gearing up for the release of his new track 'Your Love' which features Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha, and tells the story of the trials and tribulations of being in love.
The collaboration may come as a surprise to some, considering Ashley was in So Solid Crew with Alesha's ex-husband MC Harvey, whom she divorced after he allegedly cheated on her. Ashley sat down for an interview with TaleTela recently in which says his friendship with Harvey fortunately didn't affect the pair coming together in the studio.
"It's all good, at the end of the day we're big people. When these things happen in the past, this all happened in the last decade really, it's a long time, it's a long time for people to heal, it's a long time for people to grow up and mature," Ashley explained.
"I've definitely been doing a lot of that and Alesha has as well and Harvey has as well, so as much as stuff went wrong, we're big people and there's work to be done, there's a future we've all got ahead of us."
Ashley goes on to explain that despite what happened in their marriage and very public split, Alesha doesn't hold a grudge towards Harvey and has moved on from the drama.
"It's just about making things right and as far as I know - I can say this without giving anything away - Alesha's a grown woman, she's very successful but at the same time very humble with it, Ashley continued.
"She's a really down to earth person and a really good person to know. She holds no resentment, so because of what happened with her and Harvey she'd never not do work with me, so I respect that and I applaud that in her."
Your Love is out on October 28. Check out what Ashley has to say about Alesha below...
