Rapper DMX has been released from jail.

E! Online has reported that DMX, real name Earl Simmons- was allowed to walk free yesterday after serving only 18 days out of his 90 day sentence, for violating his probation in relation to a reckless driving offence eight years ago.

Having surrendered himself to the LA authorities on July 26 to begin his sentence, DMX told MTV News at the time, that going inside was “for the best.”

“Me and my crew, we came to the conclusion that would be best. It was something that happened years ago, a driving infraction,”

He continued: “I like LA, I like the fans, I like to come out here to work. I wanna get that over with. It's one of the first steps in regaining everything I lost.”
