Following in the footsteps of stars including Snoop Dogg and Liza Minnelli, former Spice Girl Mel B is set to appear as a special guest at this years Melbourne Cup.

The prestigious Australian horse racing event that takes place later in the year is usually brimming with fashion savvy attendees and the singer turned reality TV hopeful has been inundated with offers from designers hoping to dress her for the event prior to her appearance in the events renowned celebrity birdcage.

Allegedly, the singer, previously nicknamed Scary Spice, hopes to promote her forthcoming reality television show Mel B: It's a Scary World due to air on American cable television channel Style Network.

However, The Daily Telegraph reported that a promoter for the event suggested that the singer could "make $100,000 (£57,300) for a 40 minute set" if she decides to hit the floor and knock out some tunes as well.
