R&B singer has two reasons to celebrate, not only has she been nominated for Soul Train awards but she has also announced that she's engaged to LA Lakers player Shannon Brown.

The 'Before You Walk Out of My Life' singer posted a picture of her diamond ring over the weekend and also expressed her thanks for her supportive fans.

The 29-year-old Grammy-award winner began to date Brown, 24, after he appeared as her love interest in her video 'Love All Over Me'.

Monica tweeted: "We realize people will have their opinions. That's the way of the world. But we know who we are&who's we are.We pray 2 an awesome God 2gether."

She continued: And that is what keeps us strong. So for all my real supporters who are happy for me. I thank u, I love u, & I'm realistic enough about life To know my journey has just begun. I don't have anything else to say about it.2 people who judge. If u worked on self u wouldn't even see me.

It was only earlier this year that Monica announced that she was separating from husband rapper Rodney 'Rocko' Hill Jr. who she was with for over 10 years. The couple married in secret and had two children together.
